About

“If one truly loves nature, one can find beauty everywhere.”

Vincent Van Gogh

IT IS ALL ABOUT THE LIGHT

Through highlighting colour and form – light brings glass to life.

Using the interplay of light and colour in glass, and utilising traditional glass-working techniques incorporate contemporary artistic visions through cutting, structure, texture and paint. The work is influenced by the way in which light and dark define and change the pigments. I draw inspiration from history, as well as international contemporary artists who are redefining conventional notions of glass imagery.

An important aspect of my work involves recycling old and damaged glass panels. I dismantle them and I either create entirely new designs around the basic design or using hand picked pieces that ‘speak to me’ I incorporate them into a new work resulting in unique product that blends the old with the new. This process not only preserves the history embedded within each fragment, but also allows the weaving of new narratives giving these valuable materials a second life.

I aim to celebrate both their heritage and their potential for transformation.
